This year I went “back to nature” and decorated my dining room with velvet pumpkins, velvet mushrooms and owls. I love how it turned out.

I “kept it real” with you and left the high chair where my daughter sits in place. No fancy table settings today – this is really where we eat and how we use the table. The blue and white placemats are from Mackenzie Childs.

This year the owls perched themselves on the mantel. I have had these owls for probably a decade. They are starting to fall apart – I use hot glue gun to keep them intact. The mushrooms are my newest addition. They were a find from late Fall last year. I purchased them from Mrs. Alice.

A Fall Front Porch

This is my Fall front porch this year. I did not go “all out” like so many Bloggers (or I guess we’re called Influencers now?) do.

I wanted something more paired back. So I simply decorated with some pumpkins.

What pumpkins do I need to copy this look?

Easy, here’s a LIST!

  • 10 Baby Boo White Pumpkins
  • 4 Mini Tiger (white and orange striped)
  • 4 Cinderella (I did combo of blue and orange)
  • 6 Jack O’ Lanterns (I did various sizes 4 small and 2 medium)

Then I just propped them up and arranged them until they looked good.

While it may be trendy, I enjoy styling my tiered tray. Here are a few ideas on how to style your Fall tired tray.

  1. Pumpkins – Faux, real, velvet, fabric – as long as they are mini!
  2. Fall candles – choose a candle with a cute design to pop, or a favorite Fall scent.
  3. Mini vase or mugs – here I used mini Moscow mules to add a pop of warm copper tones to the tray.
  4. Interesting boxes – I save old candy boxes or other little boxes I find in various stores to use as decor.
  5. Fall mug – although you can’t see it in the picture too well, on the other side of this tray I have a Fall themed pumpkin mug. (I tried to upload a picture but it kept failing to load so I gave up)

I’ve included some inspiration to shop for your own trays.

I stuck to the more traditional colors of Fall. Shopped the Staffordshire collection to find some little figurines that matched!

Happy September!!

I’ve pulled my velvet pumpkins out and have them on display!

Fall Halloween Velvet Pumpkin Table Setting Decor with Purple and green

The centerpiece of this table are dried hydrangeas from my garden! Planned ahead in July and started drying them. It took about two weeks to dry.

Aren’t the pumpkins so pretty?!

A look at my mantel in the dining room. I ran out of deep purple pumpkins for this display. I made the chinoiserie toile pumpkins myself a few years back.

Sharing this year’s Fall mantel. The color palette was inspired by the painting and my old books.

I look for antique books with interesting spines on them.

I’m running out of things to say about this… how about… look! pumpkins!

Velvet pumpkins I purchased from LoveFeast Shop. Books are from various antique malls. Boxwood, corn, and candlesticks from little boutiques.

In this post: Fall table decor ideas with nontraditional Fall colors of pink and green!

This is a sponsored post featuring Hot Skwash Pumpkins from LoveFeast Shop. All images and opinions are completely mine.

I am very excited to share with you my Fall tablescape for this year! This year I am partnering with LoveFeast shop to feature Hot Skwash velvet pumpkins. I received these beautiful pink pumpkins to feature in a post. Keep reading – I have a special discount code for you at the end of the post!

For years (seriously – search the blog… you will see!) I have slowly been purchasing and building my velvet pumpkin collection. Needless to say, I was thrilled when LoveFeast shop approached me with an opportunity to collaborate! Now that I think of it, I think I bought my first velvet pumpkin in 2008. So I REALLY like these pumpkins!

This year I was inspired by the pinks and greens of Fall colors. PINK?! Yes. I know. It is not a traditional Fall color. BUT if you look at a tree turning colors there is a myriad of colors: green, yellow, orange, dark pink, red, brown!

The velvet pumpkins come in tons of colors. On my table there is a combination of blush, guava, rose, magenta, lipstick, chartreuse and moss.

They also come in many sizes. They look best when you mix and match several colors with several sizes. If you have no idea what sizes and colors you would choose, LoveFeast Shop has some curated sets to choose from.

Decorating tip: Pair your pumpkins with some natural greenery or flowers to make them look their best, like I did for the centerpiece. The big pumpkin in the center is guava and is 8″ for size reference.

I love using velvet pumpkins in my Fall decor because they are so versatile! I like to use them on my mantel, as well as little vignettes throughout the house.

Decorating Tip: Place a small pumpkin on each place setting. Below is a 3″ Rose pumpkin on the plate.

Here is a slightly different look. I placed a blush colored pumpkin in the centerpiece. It’s so easy to just mix and match them!

What I love about these pumpkins is that they are made of a silk velvet which make them luxurious and give them a really nice color. I also adore the real dried pumpkin stems that are used. The real pumpkin stem is what makes them so charming! I love the whimsical curls of the dried stem.

They are also nice because they never go rotten! To store them in the off season, I carefully place them in plastic storage bins.

Can you believe that September has creeped up on us already? I’m looking back at the past Fall tables that I’ve created as inspiration for this year! I thought I’d walk down memory lane with you.

Soft and Casual Fall table from last year.

The year of the nontraditional Fall colors… green, white and blue!

Rounded up a few Fall plates that I like from this year. I’m thinking instead of styling a Fall tiered tray, I’m going to style a hutch. So obviously I need some new plates, riiiight?

This was another green and white table from the same year, with homemade pumpkin cake!

Cozy and Romantic Fall table setting. This was honestly my favorite one I did.

I also encourage you to check out my shop where I’ve added some Fall home decor for the year.

Also check out my previous Fall posts here.

And of course, I still LOVE PINTEREST so check out my Fall Board!

Welcome to my French Country Fall Home tour!! If you are coming from Virginia Sweet Pea, welcome! I’ve joined many other fabulous bloggers in a Fall Home Tour Blog hop today!

The rarely seen “other side” of the fireplace! I don’t photograph it too much because it is hard to get a good picture. My trusty owls have perched here for the Fall.

Close ups of the vignettes on the fireplace.

Velvet pumpkins sit on the antique piano.

Now for the pièce de la résistance! Shades of blue and pink velvet pumpkins sit on this mantle.

I cleared my Fall table with pumpkins and arranged a simple Fall centerpiece with faux maple branches (get them here) sit on the table.

This year I created chinoiserie pumpkins using Stone Gable’s tutorial! Aren’t they pretty?

It has a mixture of sweet and salty. You can mix in literally whatever you want!

For this specific mix I used:

  • Cheez-Its
  • Mixed salted nuts
  • Cheerios (specifically maple cheerios)
  • cheese popcorn
  • candy corn

You can mix in whatever various snacks you want though! Just choose a blend of sweet and salty – that’s what makes it good!

Sticking to the softer side of Fall this year.

Light blue and orange pumpkins decorate the table.

We have homemade pumpkin soup (recipe here) ready to eat on this Fall evening!

I used this beautiful tartan blanket (get it here) as the table cloth this year.

Lanterns cast their soft glow in the evening.

When we aren’t eating soup, the pumpkin cocottes are set out on display!

I hope you enjoyed this table – only a feast for your eyes and not for your stomach!

Happy first week of Fall!! So excited to share my Fall mantle this year! Well, Tomorrow kicks off the first day of Fall and I am ready!

If you follow me on Instagram, I had asked my followers this late Summer what color of velvet pumpkins I should get… and here’s the result!

I went with different shades of green to go with the little girl in the painting. I am totally obsessed with the velvet pumpkins and just can’t get enough of them!

I have also recently been increasing my antique book collection and love stacks of book scattered here and there.

I confess though, I have had this mantle on display for over a month now even though I’m just now sharing it with you…. ya know, I have to take pictures, upload them and blog about it so it isn’t as easy as 1, 2, 3.

I plan to leave this up through Halloween, then out comes Christmas!

I just got back from a trip to Banff National Park in Canada, so I still don’t quite have my Fall decorating finished (plus, technically, it IS still Summer). I thought I would share a few beautiful inspiration pictures with you on this lazy Sunday.

Transitioning from Summer to Fall Decor

Transitioning from Summer to Fall DecorWe use affiliate links in our posts and our site. This means if you make a purchase using these links, we may earn a small commission. You don’t pay a cent more than you would otherwise! Our full disclosure is available under About.

The period from late Summer to early Fall is always a struggle for decorating with me. Today I’m sharing how I’m transitioning my decor and I’m joining many other fabulous bloggers in a Summer to Fall decor Blog hop!! If you’re coming from First Day of Home, welcome!

One of the easiest places for me to transition the seasons is in the kitchen.

Sunflowers are a really easy way to transition from late Summer to Fall. Just put a few here, a few there, and voila! You’re done.

I usually display this gardener nutcracker in August/September. He sits elsewhere in the house during the rest of the year but becomes front and center at this time of year.

As we enter later in September, I will add pumpkins.

A majority of the house is like this… nothing seasonal. Just decorated with antiques and floof. I do like to set the table, but frankly we have not eaten in here since the Spring. We spend enjoy many of our dinners outside on the patio during Summer.

See what I said about sunflowers? I added a few to the basket. Also, how do you like my non-staged picture? I am trying to decide where to hang the painting. In the mean time, it will enjoy its temporary home here.

If you missed it, I just shared my late Summer/early Fall tiered tray in this post.

You can start adding pumpkins to your decor. In fact, I already have! I know it might be too early for many of you to see pumpkins, so I’ll give you a sneak preview of an upcoming post… check back in a week or two.
