Well, after looking at these pretty Thanksgiving tables I was inspired… and I am now showing you what I came up with for this year’s table!  I like Thanksgiving a lot because it is the most formal meal we eat. My husband loves to cook and I love to bake and set pretty tables! Also, Thanksgiving kicks off my favorite season– the Christmas season!

The centerpiece is Mr. Turkey with the barley twist candle sticks and cranberry trees next to that.

The porcelain turkey is sitting amongst a vine of cranberries as well.  There are lots of candles on the table as this room gets dark at nighttime as there is no overhead chandelier!

The dishes are Spode’s “Woodland” pattern which is so much fun… we like to choose everyone’s plate for them. My grandpa would get the turkey plate (’cause he’s a turkey, har har). For the big meal we also break out the real silver too. The silver pattern is “Williamsburg Shell” by Kirk Stieff.

Above, I wanted to show you the fine detail of the table runner in the middle… hand made fine antique lace! Isn’t it pretty?

A look at the little squirrel salt and pepper shaker – the squirrel is the salt shaker and his acorn is the pepper. Isn’t it cute??

Pheasants flank the ends of the table on both sides… the turkey and pheasants are from Williams Sonoma a few years ago.

Below is a look at the table from the other side where the lighting is much better! You can see the red on the cranberries some nice color to the table!

One last look from the other side…

We have way more people coming than 8… I am going to have to squeeze quite a few more place settings in and scrounge up some more chairs!

Well, we’re getting ready for Thanksgiving… getting our grocery shopping list in order! Are you ready for Thanksgiving yet??

Your table is beautiful! Love the Spode dishes and those twisted candle holders. I like that pop of red from the berry topiaries and your white turkey and pheasants. Wow that's a big swan I see in the last picture! Your china cabinet looks like mine- I had to take a double take on it! I'm working on my table but I'm actually co-hosting Thanksgiving at my Mom's which is 250 miles away so I'm taking my dishes and the decorative items to set up there. I'm still going to set mine up here just because!

Oh thank you! Yes it's a big swan, it's actually my parents, They don't have a spot for it right now so we are babysitting it… I will show it again on a Christmas tour, I think I may fill mr. Swan with poinsettias… Anyway, yes, you should set up a table at home just cause! I do all the time?

Yes I'm a little nervous leaving that antique lace runner out during dinner, I hope no one spills cranberry sauce on it!
