We found the most beautiful linen tablecloth at a local store. I love all of the bunny rabbits, ducks, and flowers. There are also a few other hidden animals.

Juliska recently came out with the most beautiful tole collection, called Meadow Walk! They have everything from place card holders to a giant stand out candelabra! For my table setting, I used two smaller candlesticks and one larger candelabra!

I adore the little mouse sitting here! Also, the floral candlesticks look good with and without candles in them!

Decorating my French Country Grandmillennial Dining Room for Spring

Decorate my dining room for Spring with me!

Well it is currently storming outside as I type this post. I am trying to bring the Spring into my house – regardless of what Mother Nature has in store!!

I picked these daffodils from my garden. Somehow they are still standing despite the 50mph winds! I decided to decorate my dining room for Spring.

I set the table for no one in particular. No one is coming over. I suppose I set it for myself. Be gone, Winter Blues! You can get this look too – which checks all the boxes for “Grandmillenial style”. You’ll need a vintage or antique lace tablecloth, a fancy vessel to hold your flowers, fancy goblets, napkin rings. These napkin rings are from LoveShackFancy discontinued, but you can just tie a ribbon around a napkin and get the same look.

I changed some of the pieces on my mantel. I now have my little orange topiaries and blue and white plates. I think I finally banished all of Christmas (and Winter) decor!

Yellow ranunculus in my Spring home tour

I picked yellow ranunculus from my garden (and supplemented a few from the store too) and could not stop photographing them around the house! Their vibrant color sung to me on that cloudy day. You get a little home tour as I moved the vase around the house.

I could not decide where I liked them best. Obviously resting them on the settee was just for playing with the camera – the cat and the kid certainly would not let them rest without being bothered there!

I do like the pop of yellow against the blue and white curtains!

A nice place for guests, but then I cannot see them all day in the powder room.

Ultimately they enjoyed the rest of the week in the kitchen, front and center!

Easy Decor Trick: Transitioning a Spring Table to an Easter Table

I have an easy decor trick for you today. I set my Spring table up recently and then decided hmm… maybe I should make this my Easter table. Want to know my secret? (you’ll have to keep reading).

Let’s first take a look at my Spring table. Freshly cut flowers are from my garden. That took some planning… from last Fall. I make a reminder on my calendar to plant bulbs!

Aren’t the daffodils so pretty? They almost look like faux flowers!

And now here is my Easter table…

Ready for my easy trick? I ADDED BUNNIES. TA DAAAAA! I told you it was easy. I’ve been collecting these little Steiff bunnies for years. My mom would give me one in my Easter basket for many years and I’ve purchased a few here and there too.

I also put a little Lindt chocolate bunny on each place setting.

By the way, this room smells AMAZING because I am burning my Diptyque Tuberose and Orange Blossom candles. SIIIIIGH. I only burn these when I want to feel extra special. Today felt like one of those days with the pretty daffodils!

French Country Spring Home Tour 2019

Welcome to my Spring home tour! I had so much fun arranging flowers and scattering them throughout the house.

April (and March… and February… and January…) showers brought May flowers!

The peonies came from Trader Joe’s and the roses came from my parent’s garden.

This vignette sits in the center of the main island in the kitchen.

I love the yellow roses against the black Wedgwood. These are “Golden Celebration” by David Austin.

A bud vase centerpiece sits in the formal dining room.

Found it at an estate sale last Fall and have been waiting for the little roses to bloom to fill it up!

This normally sits in my bedroom (under the tv) with faux flowers… but it is not very photogenic under the tv! Nor is it well seen there!

Now for the pièce de résistance!

I can’t get enough of these flowers! So pretty!

The problem though is that they don’t last very long. The next day several of them already dropped their petals.

Oh, and they smell heavenly!

Ok, so I couldn’t decide where I liked the vase the best…. so I kept moving it around. Ultimately I settled on this piece.

Isn’t it pretty here???

The vase above is actually part of a set with the pieces below… but I separated them and put these on the piano.

I wish roses were always in bloom. Actually, in California, some of the roses bloom from April – January!

I couldn’t decide which picture not to share, so you get extra!

Back into the kitchen, the breakfast nook has my peonies!

They smell wonderful too!

I suppose this post should really be titled “An Ode to Ranunculus”. They are one of my favorite flowers.

I literally walked around my house and shot a hundred pictures because I love them so much.

I couldn’t edit my post down to three pics, so decided just to share a lot of them in various locations in my house!

I mean, ranunculus on a velvet chair? Pretty!

Ranunculus on my French piano? Also pretty!

Or in a window?

How about in the powder room?

They do match the wallpaper, after all!

French Country Spring House Tour

A French Country Spring house tour is in store for you today because Spring has sprung here! The roses are blooming and it smells wonderful!

First let’s head into the sitting room. Antique French chairs with a repro trumeau mirror. This mirror was one of the very first things I bought to decorate my place – I was only 22 years old and knew I loved French country style!

Spring flowers sit in the wheeled basket. Faux hydrangeas metal candlesticks sit on the antique desk. I believe the last time you saw this room there was a Christmas tree in the middle of it! Well, now we’ve moved things around and put the antique harp in the corner.

An Aubusson rug sits in the middle of the room. Still love the brick floors which are by Arto brick.

And a pop of color greets you in the kitchen! The roses are all David Austin’s varieties.

We bypassed the family room, because, it’s uh, messy! A French country Spring kitchen awaits! A rustic urn matches the candlesticks.

On top of the hood I put a new Spring wreath and a pair of chickens!

Aren’t the roses gorgeous? They are so fragrant as well. I picked them from my parent’s garden as our garden still is still non existent. Unfortunately the garden roses only last a day or two – that’s okay, I like going to the garden to pick more.

I haven’t really shared this view of our kitchen. The appliance in the island is a drawer microwave. At first I was unsure of a drawer microwave but now I love it!

Here is our view when we stand on the do the dishes.

The fireplace is see through. The rock is Texas limestone. The little floral French chairs are where those who are not cooking tend to sit. I plan to reupholster them.

This mantle is more rustic than that in the living room. My herd of cows and flock of swans sit here. The sconces are Aidan Gray – found them for a steal!

Hmm, now where is this little corner?? My bedroom! Just a little sneak peek of an upcoming post!

Well, it’s time to go… the sun is setting. Let’s go sit in the courtyard and enjoy the scent of lemon blossoms and the sound of the trickling fountain. And yes, below is another sneak peek of another upcoming post! I’ve been busy writing….

Ok, one last look at the roses since they are so pretty and only here for a small time of year (ok, it’s California, they are here from May – November).

I love Spring – it is one of my favorite times of year! This year I had so much fun at the flower market picking out flowers for this table.

Recently I have been drawn to the color orange – I wrote about that here in my coral/persimmon inspiration post. I think it is because the orange makes blue look even better!
