I love Spring – it is one of my favorite times of year!  This year I had so much fun at the flower market picking out flowers for this table.

Recently I have been drawn to the color orange – I wrote about that here in my coral/persimmon inspiration post. I think it is because the orange makes blue look even better!

I love using my tulipiere.

It is such an usual vase.

The tulipiere is filled with three different colors of ranunculus and two-toned tulips.

Little sprigs of Muscari finish the look and their bright blue goes so well with the oranges and peach colors!

I took a hundred pictures. I couldn’t stop snapping.

Snap snap snap.

The pink goblets are vintage French.

The blue plate and goblet are Juliska.

I found these in the drawer and forgot I had them – oops, should have used them for the Easter table!

Oh well, this is a Spring table and let me tell you – we have *hundreds* of rabbits around here.

Jack rabbits – not the cute fluffy kind.

These rabbits have snaggle teeth and huge pointy ears – and boy can they run!

Yah… run into my garden and eat it if the fence gate is open!

Snap snap snap.

I wish the flowers would stay like this forever and not wilt.

About these tea light candle holders – they were bronze in color but we painted them years ago. I try to envision again how they look in bronze.

The table cloth goes nicely with the pinks and blues!

The table cloth is antique.  It is a Madeira table cloth.  It is made of organdy, applique, and embroidery.

Snap snap snap.

Don’t you love the blue with the orange? J’adore.

Ok maybe I should have edited this post and taken one of these photos out.

But I can’t. I love them all.

This table is perfect for the Spring – but could easily convert to a Fall table with changing of the table cloth and the candle holders!

Spring Table Setting

Spring is one of my favorite times of year.  I realized as I wrote that I say that for every season/month! Except January.

I thought this Spring table added a bit of cheer… I don’t know about where you are living but here in California our flowers are blooming!

This post may contain affiliate links meaning I make a few cents when you click

My garden has daffodils, muscari, and trees blooming. Tulips are not just yet, but the flower market’s tulips are in!

I thought these blooming tree branches went well with the placemats that we made.

I love the colors of Spring – pinks, blues, yellows, and Spring greens!

I placed a muscari stem on each individual napkin.

I don’t think I have ever set a table with tree branches nor have I used my Country Estate vase!

The goblets are vintage French and I love the pink!

I love the height that the branches add to the room since the room does not have a chandelier!

I also love bud vases! The one from the left is from France and the one to the right is the top piece of my tulipiere!

The eucalyptus branches have been hanging around for a while – they have since dried but still add some nice color to the table!

The daylight was so beautiful today that I could not stop taking pictures.

Just a little Spring table I set for myself and husband to enjoy… we aren’t having a party. Do you set the table for yourself?

After the photo shoot I collected all of the muscari blossoms and stuck them into this bud vase so I can enjoy them longer!

I’d love it if you would pin this!

In this post – using antique or vintage transfer ware for your every day table!

I put together this purple transferware table earlier this year and photographed it but then I forgot to post it!  I had fun putting this table together.

This post may contain affiliate links.

I took down the antique purple transferware plates from the walls and enjoyed how the look with the grey of the table and chargers.

They also go great with my Juliska purple goblets!

I put these antique Staffordshire cows in the center of the table to complete the look.

Why store all of your antiques on the walls or in the display cabinets? Pull them out and use them!

These Staffordshire figures remind me of the white cows that Charles Faudree always decorated with!

When taking this picture, I realized the fabric on the antique Swedish chair goes with the purples on the plate and goblets!

A mixture of peonies and ranunculus sit in the center of the table.   This is meant to be a simple table to show off the antiques.

Antique monogrammed napkins were at every place setting.

You can create a similar table too and use your transfer ware!

If you are going to dine on the transfer ware, I would suggest either using plastic utensils so you don’t scratch the plate or putting a clear glass plate on top.

I just love the look of the antique purple transferware.
I think it is a really interesting color.
Hope you all enjoyed my little table!

Pink Peonies Table Setting with Touches of Green!

Today I’m sharing this table setting with pink peonies as the star of the show!

Pink Peonies table with green plates and vintage French pink goblets

For the centerpiece, I used these pretty pink peonies with a few scattered ranunculus.

I used the leaves from the peonies and scattered them on the table which brings in the green from the plates.

I also used paper lace doilies in the centerpiece as well.

Pink Peonies table with green plates and vintage French pink goblets

The green plates are a pretty Spring green from Bordallo Pinheiro. The pink goblets are vintage French.

The napkins are antique and are monogrammed. Not with my name! I wish, but it’s hard to find antique ones with the exact same letters!

I love how the color of pink peonies pop against this table.

I love these peonies. The bright yellow stamens in the middle make the flower resemble a poppy.

I have another table setting for you of with different shades of purple, black and white.  The star of the show is my tulipiere, which I love and have never seen any other vase like it except in museums.

This post may contain affiliate links. See my disclosure policy.

Spring Table with Juliska Tulipiere, purple carnations and ranunculus and an antique lace tablecloth

I went crazy shooting pictures of the flowers, I shot tons of pictures.  Then when I was all done I realized I didn’t have a close up of the table setting itself.  Oh well, the table cloth is wrinkled anyway, so… look at the flowers!!

The table cloth is antique and was used at my wedding.  I like the plum goblets with the purple flowers.

Spring Table with Juliska Tulipiere, purple carnations and ranunculus and an antique lace tablecloth

It takes approximately 3 dozen flowers to fill up this vase. My husband said he was tricked – instead of buying me one bouquet to fill up a vase he has to buy three! Here I filled it with purple carnations and purple/green ranunculus!

Spring Table with Juliska Tulipiere, purple carnations and ranunculus and an antique lace tablecloth

I didn’t realize how wrinkled this tablecloth was until post-editing the pictures. Oh well, the table cloth is still really pretty!

French Country Spring House Tour 2016

I always think Christmas time if my favorite time of year, but now that it’s Spring… I think Spring is my favorite time of year! I just love all of the fresh flowers!

This post may contain affiliate links which means I make a few cents when you click on links.

The biggest way I add Spring decor to the house is to bring in fresh flowers from the garden.  Below, Mr. Swan has dried eucalyptus and ranunculus floating on his back.  My little Staffordshire Swan bud vases are on both sides with pink flowers in them too!  The Faience plates are above them.

I already showed you all my French pink table setting.  The flowers are STILL alive, whew! It’s been over a week!

Spring French table setting with Madeira table cloth, Meissen plates, pink and white ranunculus, and vintage French goblets.

Below is a little Spring vignette on my French marble top console table.  The theme is that of my wedding from several years ago which was a romantic pink and silver theme.  The little white statue below was actually on our table at the wedding and the French vase held wedding flowers.  I blurred out my wedding picture on purpose.

I purchased the table from Eloquence years ago.  It actually hasn’t held up too well with multiple cross-country moves and I’m afraid it is going to break here soon someday.  The little crystal lamp was a RH outlet find for $89!

My formal living room is spruced up for Spring with a few fresh flowers.  I stuck a few in a little Limoges tea cup.  I love the French gilt mirror… it’s my favorite piece!  I love the curtains my Mom made for me… beautiful seamist green check from Chelsea Editions.  My favorite bergere chairs sit in front of them.  For my coffee table I actually use two little French marble top side tables.

Turn the corner and I spy my tulipiere full of more fresh flowers.  This time with carnations and unique ranunculus.  I am working on a table setting with them.

Let’s head out to my little cutting garden.  I have never grown ranunculus before until this year.  We planted them in October.  They have been in bloom for several weeks now.  I didn’t know when they open up they look like anemones.

This Fall I’m going to plant even more ranunculus. I am so happy with how they have turned out!  Oh yes, and anemones too!  I really want to plant the Cloni, Hanoi, and Cappuccino ranunculus varieties. Do you know where I can find those bulbs??

Back inside, oh my, a pretty pink present for someone’s birthday coming up!  Wonder what it could be… guess we’ll find out later.

While taking pictures of this tour, I spy a Chloe cat. She is curled up sleeping on the wool blanket without a care in the world (wait, not true. She cares about her food bowl as she is fat cat and loves to eat).

French Table Setting in Pink

We use affiliate links in our posts and our site. This means if you make a purchase using these links, we may earn a small commission. You don’t pay a cent more than you would otherwise! Our full disclosure is available under About.

What I love most about Spring are the pretty flowers!  I picked up some pretty pink ranunculus from both the flower market and my own garden and put together this Spring French table setting!

This post may contain affiliate links meaning I make a few cents when you click.

Spring French table setting with Madeira table cloth, Meissen plates, pink and white ranunculus, and vintage French goblets.

When putting together this table, I initially used my Juliska “Country Estate” plates.  But then I looked up on my bedroom wall and thought, ah ha!  And the pink plates came down from the wall.

Spring French table setting with Madeira table cloth, Meissen plates, pink and white ranunculus, and vintage French goblets.

The plates are by Meissen and the pattern is “Purple Indian”.  Based on the mark on the back, they are from around the 1850s!

Spring French table setting with Madeira table cloth, Meissen plates, pink and white ranunculus, and vintage French goblets.

The pink goblets are a recent antique mall score.  They are vintage and made in France.

The table cloth is antique.  It is a Madeira table cloth.  The table cloth is made of organdy, applique, and embroidery.  I’ve taken a close-up to show you the pretty details!

I love my vases!  I hauled back the little bud vases with people from my trip to Paris last year. The pitcher in the center is new (an early birthday present!!) and is also from Astier de Villate.  I just LOVE my new pitcher.  The other little bud vases are Juliska and are retired.

I couldn’t stop photographing the flowers. They are so photogenic.  Did you notice I hid some geraniums in the little bud vases?

This was the first year I have grown my own ranunculus. They are so pretty out in the garden; I hated picking them but then I brought them in and didn’t regret it!

I’ll end this post with a treat, would you like a raspberry macaron?

Are you all ready for this year’s house tour??  I had a lot of fun this year decorating for Easter.  I love the bright colors. This post may contain affiliate links.

The white bunny duo are placing Easter eggs in the hallway. I love my new standing bunny vase! (It’s now sold out – here’s a  similar bunny vase here! )The pink ranunculus look cute in his basket!

Mr. Swan in the dining room is carrying dried eucalyptus and ranunculus.

New addition this year is the little straw bunny! Isn’t he cute?

Behind him sits some antique hankies that I like with alabaster eggs sitting in the little holders.

Love this little floral egg sitting in a real egg shell.

The Easter dining table that I wrote about in this post.

In the hallway sits an alabaster egg tree and some chicks and lambs.

The bunny duo now with real daffodils in it! Love this new vase – can see myself playing with him year round!  You can get a similar bunny vase here! as mine is now sold out!!

In the breakfast nook I decorated the chandelier.  It has Easter eggs hanging down and a fun garland strung inside of it.

Love the Spring garland inside.  The little bunnies on the pink egg cart is an ornament I found at Christmas… yep, kept it out from Christmas!!

Below the Easter chandelier sit faux-chocolate rabbits. I sometimes psych myself into thinking I’ve left real chocolate bunnies sitting in the sunshine.  Also, my mom made these cute cocktail napkins!

Aren’t the designs on the napkins super duper cute??? Her fancy sewing machine did it!

She told me some of the designs had 36 different colors in them! wow!

The Spring bread bowl centerpiece is sitting in the kitchen…

The tulipiere is full of tulips and daffodils!

A closer look at one of the little bud vases I hauled from Paris. It’s from Astier de Villate!

Springtime blogging! The flowers and candle smell wonderful!  This is how I’m blogging today, I do admit I don’t always have fresh flowers and a cappuccino when blogging, but today is special.  It’s nice to make ordinary things (like blogging) special sometimes, isn’t it?

Easter Home Tour

I hope you all enjoyed my Easter Home Tour this year! I’ll be sad to pack it up as I don’t decorate the whole house for any other holidays until Fall!

Taking a break from blogging about my Paris trip to share my pink peonies tablescape!

As you all know, I LOOOOOVE peonies.  They are my favorite flower.  I mean, I named my blog after them!
This post may contain affiliate links. See my disclosure policy.

When I saw them I knew instantly that they would look good with my black “Country Estate” Juliska.

I found this pink ombre ribbon at my favorite store in Southern California – Roger’s Gardens.  Ironically it was the cheapest thing I’ve ever purchased there… $5 for a whole roll of ribbon!

To add some extra pops of pink, I brought over my favorite antique Staffordshire swans to the table.

Let’s look closer at the peonies… you can almost smell them from here!  They had a nice scent.

The peonies lasted for a week and then wilted.  Too bad!

One last photo collage of my favorite table!

With the cherry trees blooming down here in Southern California (I’m not joking!), I have set up my table for the Spring.  I guess it’s Spring according to nature, I can make it Spring in my house!

Found these cute little bunnies at Pottery Barn last week.  They are supposed to be carrying eggs, but since the Easter bunny hasn’t been by yet, they are hauling roses from my garden. (Yes, my roses are blooming)

Isn’t this bunny cute??
One last look, lavender from the garden, roses from the garden… little madeleine pots, with a touch of purple.

Are you ready for Spring???  I bet you are, based on the weather reports for the rest of the country!  It’s currently 80 degrees down here, I have the windows open, listening to the birds chirping, and the snap peas in the back are growing like mad!  Ready to move???
